To date or not to date… That is the question.
Shopping lists say a lot about us. More than I ever realised.
Today I stood in line behind someone who bought (amongst other things) dogfood (adult dogs) and good beer. When he was done, he went over to the service desk and bought my favorite newspaper.
It was tempting to ask if he had a girlfriend. We have a lot in common, on the surface.
Would it be rude to ask a complete stranger something like that?
Why did it even come up in my (sort of odd to begin with) head?
Sometimes, even I amaze me ;-)

Forward? Definitely..
Rude? No, or rather, depends on the way you ask. At worst you have a nice anecdote to tell people. At best you´ve made a new buddy.
And really, probably everyone sneaks a peek at their register-neighbours´ shoppings sometime or another. That being said.. if you find yourself in a similar predicament in future you´d might want to consider something slightly more innocuous (like asking wether he walks his dog in the neighbourhood) .. then again you could probably pull off both :)

P.s.: Holy crap that´s an impressive resume

Yeah, next time something like that happens, I’ll be nice and ask about the dog first :-)
The whole “Do you have a girlfriend?” thing can wait ;-)
PS. Thanks for the resume remark, you made me blush, smile and proud :-)
