(whaaaaaa today is CRAZY at work! *argh*argh*argh*)

Me and carrying?
I pay minions for that :P

It sounds like you've got too many things to lie on. You're spoiled with it! You should give some away. (Not like my friend where I'm staying will be that happy when he finds a big waterbed in the middle of the livingroom when he returns from holiday ;-)
But maybe I shouldn't bee too jealous because I actualy deliberately threw away 1 1-person and 1 2-person mattress yesterday, and got the biggest ever bed in England one could wish for just oneself. (I mean... HUGE!! I'm in love :-) ) Still not sure if I'll allow my cat on it once he'll be moving to that place.

Sleeping after parties is good. Because if it's a really good party people already start sleeping when the party's actually still going and the sun's coming up.
However what are the chances of that...? Because apparently you don't have tea-and-biscuits serving pets yet? you have to go and get up yourself and do it all manually? How 2006! :-P

Ofcourse you weren't aware of suggesting something. But that doesn't mean you didn't do it :-) But don't worry about that. Just make sure you get better and healthy and fit and all that again. Because England is definitely worth having a look at. And the door's always open for a nice visitor ofcourse! :-))

Are you suggesting that you'll just carry the waterbed out of here? ;-)
I do actually have a spare bed in the bike shed, and one couch (the one I'm on now) that is big enough to comfortably lie on with three people (if you like eachother enough) and there's the sleeping couch, the one that folds into a (small) two person bed, and then there's the double waterbed... And if you really must, I also have a self inlatable mattrass ;-)
I have the distinct feeling that I might have enough places for people to sleep if anyone wants to stay after the party ;-)

Unfortunately for my sofa, I keep detaching myself before I start growing roots... I have to have food and tea and stuff ;-)
I really miss my dog though, I keep thinking she's lying by my feet, because that's what she always does, cried my eyes out yesterday when I heard my mom have a conversation with her husband over the phone about Jael...

Hmmm, you'll have to explain said loop to me some time then ;-)
Yeah, I would like to see it too, but... I don't think I'm in any fit state to travel :-(
Hopefully I'll go to the UK soonish to look up a friend who has just moved there, maybe I'll take a week, see the sights and see you over the weekend too ;-)
(And by the way, I wasn't aware of suggesting anything, I just mentioned Monty Python, vaguely and I have an anti-spam thingy under my page, I guess your mind makes leaps as well ;-) )

:-|

You've got a waterbed and you're not using it....
And I'm sleeping on a sofa for 6 weeks already (because I've got no bed in A'dam. Staying at a friends place while working here.)
Gimme gimme!
The way things are going rightnow, I don't think your sofa and you will ever be able to get apart again. You'll be physically and permanently attached if this takes too long! Luckily pets love sofas too, so they'll come and keep you warm by crawling all over you. :-))

hehehehehehe for some reason I _can_ follow your leap to Monty Python and Black Adder. Don't know why though. "On the other hand. Let's not google for Camelot. It's a silly thing." Hm... dunno. But now I really really really want to go and see the musical Spamalot. I think that's going to be my objective for Saturday evening.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, totally greedy, if you want to come and drink my beer, you have to at least know what you're not going to get me in order to do so ;-) Haha, it's more for my family though, they are really big on presents. (And into big presents at times ;-) )
For some reason "To Google" and "To Albert" reminds of the Quest for the Holy Grail and Black Adder...
Very strange, I love how my mind makes leaps that even I can't follow...

Ah, fair enough :-) Hope the cat still likes you then ;-)

Yeah, just like freelancing isn't for me right now :-)
Haha, see, I don't want me and my sofa to grow apart. We have been spending some serious quality time over the past two weeks, sinse my waterbed doesn't support my back enough for me to be able to lie on that comfortably...

Greedy, greedy, greedy girl! With a wishlist and all that! ;-))
And after 'to google' there's now the new verb 'to albert'? Haha. What is this world coming to!?

The pet travel procedure you mention is possible, but quarantine was actually a better choice for me and the cat. He's had more attention over the past 6 months than any average cat in this country gets during its entire life.

A permanent job has its advantages. Like spending lots of times with the pets indeed. But it's not for me rightnow. I love being away from home. Being on the road. Meeting new people. Learning new things. I'll enjoy my sofa during the scarce weekends (hmmmm... sofa.... *prrrr*)

I'm trying to get my wishlist sorted, so that I can refer people to that before I start inviting them for a party ;-)
I think I might actually Albert the whole deal anyway, no matter if my back is good or not, a couple of crates of beer etc are just as easily delevered all the way into your kitchen :-)

Wasn't there a way to prevent pets from having to go through quarantine when moving to the UK nowadays? I think it was somthing like (next to the normal vaccinations of course) getting them vaccinated against rabies 7 months in advance, getting them checked for anti-bodies 6 months in advance and then getting a clean bill of health withing 24 hours before going into the UK by a vet.
An ex-collegue of mine did this by moving to the UK and leaving her cats in the care of a friend for the next 7 months, so that they didn't have to go through the whole customs procedure in the UK...
It's good that you have someone to look after MacBeth :-) I still think that cummuting to far away from my place (a risk when freelancing) is not for me. My dog needs attention and walking and such, I can get a dog walking service, but I don't have pets just to have someone else look after them. I'm crazy about each and every one of my pets, all in their own different way. Specially now that my dog is at a sleep over at my mom's, I have more time to spend with my cat, and I spend more time than usual looking at my rabbits. It's great to see that group together, they have a hierarchy, they play, they dig, you name it, they do it.
Seriously, my two black sisters (Jacky and Marylin) were playing catch with a cat toy by throwing it back and forth between eachother... The wonders of the animal world will never cease to amaze me ;-)

For now, I'll keep my steady job, there might not be so much money, but at least I have a lot of time to spend with my pets and my friends (and my couch, I looooove my couch)

Haha. the future of Orange is not so bright if you ask me ;-) Or is that the history of Orange by now? ;-)

Yay! Partay! *scribbles note down* Email me the exact details if you please.
Hooray for Albert. I'm always travelling or working during 'shopping hours', so I wouldn't know what I'd do without grocery deliveries :-) (Not to mention already fainting by thinking about the fact of having to carry 150 kilos of cat-litter and cat-food etcetera... :-S )

Freelancing is the way to go. Even with pets. You don't need to go to extremes like me and my colleagues and work far away from home to be freelance. You're in Amsterdam. There are more freelance jobs available here than you can shake a decently sized stick at.
My lovely cat MacBeth (Tijger's (Habbie & Liessa's) brother) is coming home in 5 days. Wheeeeee :-) Released from quarantine by the British gov's. Booo for stupid procedures. Luckily I've got someone who's dedicated to looking after the little critter for me.

Not a clue how my colleagues here do it. They're from England, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, France, India, Brazil, Jamaica, anywhere in the world really. But I guess they're either single without any obligations, like me. Or married and thus leaving the lady at home to look after everything. Either way, we're having superb times there where we work and live during the weekdays.

Taking the plunge into freelancing is scary at first, but after that it feels like a great relieve. The future's bright! (Not sure about the orange ;-) )

Haha, I wouldn't worry if I were you, for now I can hardly make it to the subway station, let alone into town ;-)
A collegue joked that they would get me a stretcher in the office and put me in a cab to get to work :-) Actually, come to think of that, that might not be such a bad idea, we have a company mini van now, perhaps I will fit in the back ;-)

Your current life sounds great, a lot of people told me to go freelance lately, and if I read what you're up to, that does sound marvelous, but on the other hand, I'm the homely type, I have my pets, and not coming home is just not an option for me. Last time I spend three nights away from home, I slept a total of 6 hours, because being away just doesn't really help me sleep ;-) This will all be better in Miami though, loads of sun, I always sleep very well when I've been in the sun :-)

I'm throwing a birthday party on Saturday September 1st (it being my birthday and all), if you want to, you're welcome to come :-) I decided that I'm not going to let anything stop that party, even if my back isn't all better, I'm going to have the shoppings delivered. Long live <a href="http://www.albert.nl/" rel="nofollow">Albert.nl</a> and their boooooze service :-) !

I'm working on a Basel2 project at 'soon to be Fortis' bank ;)
Freelance ofcourse.
Basically just-another-IT-project which involves a whole mixture of administration / monitoring / architecture / development work. Putting as much hours in as I can, and partying the rest of the time. Had dinner in the restaurant next to the Vondelpark Open Air Theater yesterday for example. Very very nice. Despite having my home in the UK, I still love this town :)
Don't hit the bars too hard, or too fast. I'd prefer to see you there in 1 healthy piece!
